This map is set in a nuclear submarine base. Bombsite A is the submarine itself (Astute). Bombsite B is a fuel container in the underground train depot used to supply the base.

The layout idea of the map is that the facility is an old worn down naval base. The submarine (custom model by Frenzy) is based on the UK nuclear submarine Astute. The submarine is bombsite A (as in astute) and in the underground trainyard bombsite B is located. We have tried to make the map from a tactical point of view and from beta testing found it quite a challenge for both teams, once you know the map well enough. In previous versions we have had more routes but it became too unbalanced in T favour and the current layout seems to be the most even. There are 20 spawn points available for each team. We have found that the map easily holds 10 players on each team. We have tried to play around with light and sound to create a fitting mood for the map.

Changes from b1: -framrate improvement in general but most evident in submarine hanger (thanks mookie for tips and pointers) -glow glitches in office fixed (once again thanks mookie) -changed position of exploding barrels -moved easter egg trigger -added decals -fixed texture alignment -added vent route from submarine hanger to guard office - additional boxes added to allow access to sub room through blast doors

Overview is included in the BSP as well as all custom props, decals, textures etc.

We have been working on the map for about 7 weeks, mostly weekends and evenings. This is our first map built together.

    A new version has been uploaded. Mainly minor fixes but the map size has been reduced considerably due to resizing and compression of the custom textures. A tank and arcade machine have been added (thanks Frenzy). Changes have been made to the lighting in the train yard. A nav file is included in the BSP but more work is required on it.

    Pros: it has Trains...I love trains in maps Cons: none that I can think of Improvements: ditto Notes: The trains are obviously part of an underground system as they are below the level of the sub.

    Nice map looks balanced for Ct and T, particularily like the office section.

    Looks sweet...altough sum more detail here and there would spice it up more.

    Some pointers on texturing:

    Avoid that kind of beige stripe texture (ugly as hell =D ) Repetitive textures as in the top of screenshot 4 need to be broken up with details (eg: hazard lines on floor, trash decal works well - experiment ftw) Also avoid dark textures on low ceilings, as this creates an oppressive atmosphere. Try to match texture sets (in ss5: chipped plaster wall inside an office?)

    Just my thoughts on an otherwise excellent map =D

    Nice big map for 12 -30 players. Crafty hidden hotspots for sniper doods, also agree with Noddy, Textures need a little work. Tunnel to trainyard needs light, otherwise, terific map
