NOTE:

I did not create, or in anyway participate, in the creation of this map. I solely submit it for others to enjoy. Thanks to RuudVanPistolrooy for giving me permission to submit it.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

So here's the latest WIP version of the map. I wasn't sure if I wanted to release this version of it, since it's still needing a serious last layer of polish and fixing up. However I think the map needs a last round of feedback before I go for a final.

Known issues:

  • Some texture alignment bugs.
  • Model collisions.
  • Some of the models need re-skinning (remaking possibly, I pretty much suck at modelling still).
  • Totally unoptimised - FPS is shite in places.
  • Nav mesh is rough and dirty with no place painting.
  • You can escape from the map in some places.
  • Some z-fighting where the tree shadow overlays hit displacements.
  • Soundscapes appear broken in this build.
  • Some of the overlays are a bit crap.
  • Terrorists have more spawnpoints than CT

All comments and crits appreciated. I am pretty much set on the layout now, I just want to concentrate on making it look nicer and fixing bugs.

EXTRA NOTES:

  • The spawnpoints seem a bit messed up. Terrors have 13 as far as I coult tell, while Counter-Terrors only have 10. Still, the map is very playable.

    Pros: excellent map, very fluid ingame, good gameplay, corrected echo problems,coherent everywhere with the theme, well balanced with all weapons Cons: maybe the radar Improvements: add the radar, some other ambient sounds Notes: this is really a must have for everyone

    Alrite guys. Thanks for the comments. Yes this version is over a year old, but no this version has never been posted on FPSB before.

    In all honesty this map has a great deal of work still to do on it and I've not touched it or the source engine for more than a year. HOWEVER it will get finished and there will (eventually) be a final version. Spawns will be added, optimisations done, and more custom content included. I am about 1000% better at modelling than I was this time last year....

    A really great map. It really has it all. Godlike detail and brushwork. It really looks really realistic. The looks are outstanding and so is all the design. It goes together really nice. The gameplay is also good but it really needs more max players.

    If you could fix most of the errors that you know of and then add more spawns this map could become one of the best maps css has seen. Great job.

    Note: Oh well if it is not your map. :( Can you try to convince him?

    Pros: really really nice map, looks good and realistic just what i like about CS:S Cons: not enough spawns, can't rate game play cos there isn't enough spawns to put on a server, Improvements: i think this map would play pretty good, would be mad fun and manic on a 64 slot server, P90's and scouts all round :D Notes: see if the dude that made this will knock up a newer version with basically more spawns :D

    Again, as said in the feedback instructions; I did not create it, so I can't (won't ) fix it ;). I did send a message to JamesL and he said there will be a final version someday ;).

    This version is dated February 2007, it is known since then as "destaticrc". The file in the rar is dated 02-2007. Don't be fooled by the "6", there is nothing new.

    I picked it up from the Lanmaniax forum in february 2007. The rar file was called "destaticrc", but the map file and thus the map was called "destaticrc6". Therefore I uploaded it as RC6.

    I do not intend to fool anyone, as the other version uploaded here on FPSBanana is the first beta as far as I know, and this RC version is a lot more refined.

    JamesL, the author, did not update his map since this version. Testing it and commenting it is probably useless ;)

    Anyway, if you do not have this map yet, take it, it is worthy.
