Yet another remake of dust... but it's a great one.

This map is a remake of de_dust for CS:S, made by 3 mappers of the carpe diem mapping team : wofa2tens, Ice-Man, and Me. Why another dust map Sequel ? Mainly to improve its gameplay, by providing terrorists new ways to reach bomb sites, and giving them opportunities to attack their foes from behind if they are camping at their favorite places. Even if CTs are strong, they will no more have the map advantage, and they will have to move kickly (new corridors will allow them to move faster from one bomb site to another) to stop their opponents and defuse the bomb.

But improving the gameplay has not been our only goal while doing this map : We have worked a lot on the consistency with the classical "dust look", the overall design, the indoor/outdoors sound effects, the lighting issues and of course the map performance optimization.

There are 64 spawns to allow it for biggest CSS servers, but we have only tested the map performances with 25 players...

    This map looks a lot like dedustmodalpha_31 right down to the nav file meshing-in beneath the sand. On the ramps the mesh is even with the bottom of the ramp [even at the top]. It causes the bots to do a lot of hopping because the mesh is in a lot of places, too far down for the bots to get the information they need. To make the map work good with bots each square has to be raised quite a bit in the bad places.

    I like the extra areas. This map has a few more areas the dustmodalpha31 map didn't have.

    ...Just like most classical or war maps : dust2, aztec, prodigy, cpl_mill, strike... if CTs don't have this advantage on a defuse map... they generally loose.

    Pros: good level of light and ambient in general, good fps Cons: Nothing except the spawn points Improvements: I think the gameplay shoul be better with different spawn zones, for now i think the CTs are going to take immediately position near the 2 bomb site and camping-sniping Notes: overall a VERY good work

    A very cool map but it needs alot more work and alot of texture alignments aswell as it would look better if it where higher detailed and had some more effect, but overall very user friendly. it gets abit "chaotic" sometimes if its alot of player but i preffer max 5 on each team so i need to think about other people to.. bcuz of all the differences its VERY hard to see that its de_dust remake which is more of a plus then a minus.. you should also have used alot more decals and overlays aswell as better lightning (the lightning where fine but could be improved alot)... the daytime should be changed bcuz almost every dust map uses midday for daytime, maybe you should think outside the box and make it "early morning" or evening... very fun to play and stuff but it needs the little extra to make it unique, right now its just "another-dust-remake"..

    Pros: Big, you could play forver in it. Cons: Easy to get lost in. ;)

    Good Job . The game play are modified for giving the best of this map. I like playing on it. And i instal this now on my server....... Thanx for this job.
