I, Loyen, made the textures (including diffuse, bump and reflection maps!) and are therefor the author of the textures. Any release without me in the credits will be unaccepted!

Loyens retexture of the default CSS knife.

Notes Hope you like my first released reskin. :D I took a lot of effort on this actually. ;) It includes bump and reflection maps. No phong as I see it as nothing special when nothing else in CSS has phong (playing only on defaults with some minor changes by me). Because Sick420 were the uploader of the higher poly world model he's in the credits.

    Looks nice. the normal map is nice but again from defuse i would prefer from hight, the steel, grip looks nice, i like that the person who download can choose between different grips also nice work on the world model skin.

    1. I didn't choose to add phong as I see it as not useful in this game whe nothing else uses phong. 2. look at 3.. 3. I'm thinking of redoing it in higher res. (1024x512), but it feels blurry right now so I'll rethink it. 4. There's normal maps in the game with a reflection layer.

    Its not really a new innovative idea or anything :D but since everybody(some) else has chosen to critize this utterly i chose not to :) haha but i will do it like this 1.put some phong on it to edge it off :D 2.make the metalbalde textures very very contrasty w/loads of scratches and squirrils. a bit like millenias skins :) 3.add magic runes. nahh just jking :b 4.maybe make a version, or even redo the whole thing in a higher resolution in the vtf file, that would make it look rather detailed too :) 5. make some bump/normal maps to make if you can't get the phong to work, this will make the carbonfibre textures look really crisp and detailed :) :) :)

    I have 6 simple points to make.

    1: Why are there like fingerprints on the blade. The blade is meant to be a silver and maybe even bloody and shiny dagger.

    2: Camouflage? Really? No one wants a camoflauge texture. I mean some may want it, but most don't its the most simple thing to do on a texture.

    3: Are those diagonal scanlines I see? Never use scanlines, if you are, on a skin. It makes it completely noobish and ruins the texture IMO.

    4: The green texture could use some darkening.

    5: The nuts and bolts looks terrible, It could use some work.

    6: The only good one is the black one...It would be much better, IMO, if you didnt have scanlines or whatever you want to call those diagonal lines.

    I am going to rate this skin a 7.7 because of the above listed reasons.

    Detail: The attention to detail where you removed the green texture on the blade is fantastic. I almost didn't notice that was changed because you did it so cleanly.

    Realism: Realistically, the knife in CSS is not very feasible, but since this is a default retexture, it doesn't really matter.

    Texture: The green camo could do with a tiny bit of darkening in the middle section, but it still looks great. The black textured handle looks good as well, but I'd recommend darkening the scratches around the rivets, as they stand out a lot.
