I made this quick sloppy tutorial which covers a lot in a short amount of time, google craped up the quality, just make sure you watch it at original size, hope it helps, but I'm going to try to re upload it at better quality. thanks for your time and I hope this helps on how to make your first map.

your lucky i'm on right now but click on a brush or model in your grids and go to the hammer menu at the top and select VIEW>Center 3d on location
