Yes I know it's DoD but it works for CS:S all the same. Made it for a guy on another website.

First get GCFScape from here.

Install it and open it.

Now go to file>open and go to your steam folder:

Lets say you want to change the sound of the blade swinging for the allies. Well just go to the sound that looks like its named after what it does. You can even double click it to preview it. Once you find the sound you want right click and extract it to your desktop.

Now maybe you want the noise for this particular weapon to be you saying no. Well just go to windows sound recorder in your start menu accessories folder

Record yourself saying no into your mic then go to file>save as and save it over the file you extracted to your desktop earlier.

Now go to this path C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\YOURNAMEHERE\day of defeat source\dod and right click create a new folder called "sound" After you have created that folder enter it and create another one called "weapons" Now take the .wav file you made of yourself saying now and move it here. I got all these paths from GCFscape in case you want to do a sound for something else so just look at the path you are extracting from in GCFscape.

Now go in-game and try it out. :D

PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE EXPERIENCING NO SOUND INGAME!!

I have spent days trying to get sounds I RECORDED of myself to work in CSS. The problem is the FREQUENCY of the sound clip, yes it must be a .wav, must replace the old file, and it MUST BE 22050 Hz! I think certian .mp3's can be the default 44100 Hz but 22050 Hz is the solution I've been looking for. I discovered this from analyzing the original .wav files using GCFScape.

Audacity can easily change the Hz of a sound file. So if you're experiencing the same problem I was, just import your sounds into Audacity and change the Project rate to 22050.

Posted by BooM_Headshot Hi! i have a question, i installed some radio sounds and it didn't work, so i took them off and replaced them with the old commands. Now I can't hear anything, help please!

Easiest thing is probably to just reinstall.

Posted by Kramer Im getting really frustrated with these sounds, i just cant get them work in-game :/ I've created "cstrike\sound\weapons\awp\awp1.wav" but still i get the old awp sound ingame, why?
Might want to check the spelling of all your paths over again just to be sure. Also be sure the file type is actually .wav and you just didn't throw that at the end of it.

make sure that the script on css is right

    Nothing is impossible
