Have you ever noticed the cool dust effect that hovers above you in dedust or aim1337 ? Believe it or not, this is such a simple addition you can put on your map yet it adds an amazing effect.

1.) Add a brush about 416 units high. The width you can set to wherever you want it on your map.

2.) Texture that brush with either tools/toolstrigger or tools/nodraw.

3.) Now tie to entity by pressing ctrl+T . The entity we want is func_smokevolume.

4.) Now for particle color1 I always use 255 255 255, and for particle color2 I use 233 216 184 .

5.) For material I suggest using particle/particle_smokegrenade1.

6.) For particle draw width put 800. For Particle Spacing Distance put 500. For Density Ramp Speed put 1.

7.) For Rotation Speed put 15. <--same for Movement Speed.

8.) And density .4

9.) Place this above walkable space and it will look fantastic.

10.) Check out the final outcome in the screenshot taken in the map aim_1337

    Good tutorial... only one problem: It doesn't appear o.O I followed your tutorial step by step, I even redid the whole thing and yet, it just won't appear...
