In this tutorial, you will learn how to convert textures from a model to another, same model, same or different anims.

Needed material : - VTFedit -The model with the texture you want -The model ( same ) you want to put the textures on -A brain ( can be found on the black market )

What ill do : Put one of the extra textures of Elfa's kag (twinke) scout on hav0c anims, on the same scout but in a bigger version and on Jen's anims.

Motivation : I decided to use those cause i like extra texture on the Kag scout but I prefered the Jens anims version for size reasons. So i decided to combine them.

Lets start!

Texture used (from Kag scout) : CADPAT

In extra skins of the kag scout, pick canada.rar and drag the UV1.vtf folder to your desktop. I have to change the name of this file because it would be too easy as you would saw down. Lets say it is UV1_canada.vtf

Open the other scout (Jens anims one) , go in the vmodels section and double click twink.thanez.scout. You should see... UV1.vmt UV1desert_camo.... more skins but no CADPAT

Delete all the VTF files, keep the UV1.vmt

Drag the CADPAT texture ( UV1_canada.vtf ) wich is your desktop, to the twink.thanez.scout folder were we deleted the VTF files.

Now open the UV1.vmt file and you should read : { "$baseTexture" "models\weapons\vmodels\twink.thanez.scout\UV1" "$envmap" "envcubemap" "$envmapmask" "models\weapons\vmodels\twink.thanez.scout\UV1ref" }

You see the basetexture line? Of course! It is written UV1 at the end. But the texture we want to apply is named UV1canada !? So rename UV1 to UV1canada.

For wmodels Close UV1.vmt and go to materials/models/weapons/wmodels/twink.thanez.scout Open UV1.vmt You should read : { "$baseTexture" "models\weapons\v_models\twink.thanez.scout\UV1"

}

Remember that we change the UV1 to UV1canada earlier in the vmodels, so do the same thing here ; rename UV1 to UV1_canada

Now close all those windows and go enjoy your new textured weapon! Take a look at the pictures before/after.

If you have any problems concerning this tutorial or texture converting, refer to me or a well knowed friend that knows about this trick.

If you make it to work, do not make what i did in this tutorial to aim a future release. Because I submitted the tutorial, im reserving myself the right to be the only one who wants to make a release like this.

Thank you!
