tthank you. i was doing basic recolors and overlays using gimp, this helps alot, thank u, un prolly just saved my pride

I tend to have Model Viewer open and then just edit the .vtf in my cstrike\materials\models\weapons\vmodels\i.e. pistdeagle\ -folder with photoshop. (first I make just a little edits and flatten the layers and save it, then i refresh(F5) model viewer so I can see what did I just screw up.. ;)

heres a tip use gimp
Sorry, it was silly me :P i named the deagleskin1 file: deagleskin| ....i've really gotta get glasses...+ the fact i'm new to skinning xD ty anyways
They just need to be in vtf format and then past them in the right folder to use
I was wondering if i had to edit the deagleskin1 _ref file to match the deagleskin1 file...becoz i'm having problems with the skin working on css.....all i get is the default css deagle skin, not the one i made....i've made sure the files and that are all in my cstrike folder...but i'm also wondering if its becoz at the end of the tut where u select the settings for the vtfplugin i had no option for the "no compression (format specific)" part..sorry for the lengthy post ;) plz reply
