A floaitng rock in the sky.

This is a rock floating in the sky with a house built on it, some trees and other stuff. It contains mostly climbing spots but also some for barricading.

Thanks to hipshot for the nice skybox texture!

[Features:] - 64 spawn points - cubemaps - no falling damage (you get teleported back up) - climbing and barricading/camping spots - good framerate

[Update History:] --- v2 (01.04.2010) --- v2 is still available for download here (for smaller servers). - Fixed invalid spawn points - Fixed falling damage bug (some players DID receive damage) - Added some more hiding spots - Improved design slightly in some places - Made one hiding spot easier accessible (the 3 small floating rocks) --- v3 (03.04.2010) --- - Enlarged the map - Connected various camping spots / made them easier accessible --- v4 (04.04.2010) --- - Made the tree easier accessible - Fixed a spot where you could get stuck - Players don't get stuck anymore when being teleported --- v5 (19.04.2010) --- - Added another barricading room inside the main rock - Made the camping spot inside the smaller rock easier accessible (there are more small crates instead of big ones now) - Some more minor changes

[Known bug:] On a server where killed zombies respawn as humans the respawned humans get falling damage.. and thus die when they fall down. (Although I added an extra trigger in front of the teleports. There seems to be no solution for this problem)

    Hum... It's need a 3D skybox :P ! You can made mini ilands and put it into the skybox 3D, oh and aww...! You devance me! I'm making a Fantasy Airship xD!

    Pros: A excellent map my man. The camping spots in the map are really well balance given the server specs. The areas on the map are well varied, giving the player the option to barricade in some places. It would be nice to see some more barricading areas in the map to give the player more of an option. Not saying that the players will shoot all the props off the cliff, but just a suggestion. Nice texture choice for the map, varied theme throughout and fantastic bright lighting. Great job on the map man and looking forward to your next submissions. Improvements: *More barricading spots Notes: Overall a great map that I got a chance to play on the FireWall server. Nice work.:D

    My server is 40 slots ,but this map would be much better with more places for human ,pls make v5 with more :)

    Great map 50ae ... I've not got much else to add to my prev assessment .. but the expansion of this map, the detail and the fun factor are all enhanced.

    The design theme ties in very nicely to the recent release of the movie Avatar - with the Floating Islands toward the end of the movie!

    There's only one spot that presents a problem for Zombies .. and it is a fairly large stumbling block for them .. is the Bunker area with boxes in it which is all but impenetrable with more than 4 or 5 Humans in there.

    Zombies give up after hammering them for a minute or so with no success.

    If it were possible to make a breakable wood log panel top area on that Bunker to at least give the Zombies a chance at getting in there, rather than being shredded from inside at the only current approach point - a front on attack - then this would be just about perfect.

    Loads of fun, nice expansion of original map, nice layout and fresh idea. It just needs that one Human camp spot fixed with a breakable top or similar.

    Insofar as the baseless Anonymous rating of 5/10 that some courageous, nameless soul put up against this map - what a hero you are.

    I do not believe that Anonymous & obviously deliberately and unjustified low ratings should be allowed against maps. It totally erodes the credibility and veracity of the entire Ratings system to have an unexplained anonymous rating undermine the quality of a map like this, and is open to obvious spurious and vexatious abuse from competitors or those who just feel like spoiling a rating.

    If someone hasn't got the honesty or fortitude of putting their name against a rating, then Anonymous ratings should be completely disallowed against any map.

    50ae, I would open up an appeal against that pathetic anonymous rating, and get the Moderators to get rid of it. It is entirely undeserved & unwarranted against this map.

    Excellent effort 50ae - look forward to your next map. 9.85/10

    Well there are good places to hide but depending on your server options the zombies might be stronger than on other servers.. If your server isn't too big you can try out using v2 (link see update history).

    Disps do not affect fps that much. First try to place some and see the outcome.

    I just used the clipping tool a bit. I know displacements would be nice but on a full server many people would experience FPS drops. Somebody had only 45fps on a server with 30 people without those displacements. So it would be at the limit for those people.

    I must ask, did you carve the racks with other blocks? Because it doesn't look like you used the displacement tool. I think if you did that to the bottom of the rocks, and maybe a bit on the top, this map would look even more beautiful.
