A medium map with lots of action. Lots of hard work went into this map. If only you non mappers knew what it takes...

This is a rather unique map, in that it's development spand three years. I wanted to make a nice indoor map. I was inspired by the office levels of the original H.L.

The map is a medium sized map. There is a story in the .zip file which describes the situation. Unfortunately the mapping community is very inactive so getting it playtested took me a long time. I went through it dozens of times trying to get the balance right.

I had two people playtest it. I may release new versions based on people's experiences while playing it; due to the lack of playtesting.

Installation guide

All of the files will go in a folder with the following path:

C:\program files\Valve\Steam\Steamapps(the name of this folder depends on your Steam username)\Half-Life 2\hl2

The .bsp file goes in the "maps" folder.

All files ending with .vmt go into the materials folder.

To play the map:

In order to play the map, you need to enable the Half-Life 2 "console". To do this, right click on Half-Life 2 and select "properties". Click on "Set launch options" put -console in the launch options box.

You can also do this for the Half-Life 2 shortcut on your desktop.

Start Half-Life 2. A window will come up with lots of text in it. Underneath it there will be an area where you can enter text with a button saying "submit" on the right. In here, type map corridors and it will load the map.

pros: nice mapL nice and fun to play through cons: the first time i played through, some entities didnt show up. i played a second time and was shot dead by combine coming from the other side of the steam. l8er a combine rose out of the steam crack and started shooting me improvements: something about spawn points

If I didn't put pipes everywhere people would find it too bland. I'm not sure what you mean by "if you go down the stairs you fall". All the textures are the normal scale as well. I am sure if BigBangMesa was trying to do anything else but troll he would have actually come up with points to justify his argument, which he didn't so it's pointless to try and take what little he did say and try to interpret it into something meaningful.

The map is very diverse, i think what bigbang means are things like: texturescaling, stairs (->if you go downstairs you fall!) i liked it because its funny but you could make the antlion guard more dangerous (with more space to hunt, no exits to escape or breakable walls.) and have you ever seen a normal building with that much pipes? :D

Thanks dude 8=] I don't mean I am still in need of playtesters, I just mean that when I have enough feedback from a majority of people about something I might change it.

Thank you for your support; it is much appreciated!

Peace dude. Thankfully I have had a good amount of support from people like you 8=] I really cannot understand the mentality that people treat maps with on this website either.

It's as though they think that the mapper has a duty to provide 100% what they want. Very strange

Thank you for your support buddy!

I think you should ignore those kind of feedback man, this is a mainly skinning/modelling site, not mapping, people just go here thinking that mapping is the same shit as modelling, they don't understand that single player maps are boring to make, scripting and all the stuff to make the map flow good, I map single player too, for Half-Life 1 which is more easy and I think its a pain in the ass to make all the stuff, I can't even imagine in Half-Life 2, just ignore man, guys here like skins not maps, and think they're the same shit and come here like 'LOLZ U SHULD RETEX DA FKIN MAP LIEK TEH SNAEK DO WIT DA MODLES!!!1'.

I can't test the map right now as I don't have HL2, but I feel bad how people say shit on the maps here, seriously.

There you go again, posting totally INCOHERENT nonsense. What the hell is a "blind act" and what the hell is "rule 34 much"?

You are obviously just a lamer because you keep avoiding the question of what needs improvement.

Posted by Bigbang Mesa Well It seems you need to go through it a few more times. What I mean right there is that the 'flow' of the map isn't great. And yes I know what it is to map, I map myself, mapped for about 4 mods. And no, It isn't that much work to try it, thats the easiest and most rewarding bit of making maps.
Speak sense for once will you? Do you have an allergy towards mentioning actual issues themselves? how DARE YOU say I need to go through it a few more times without saying what I need to look for. Explain your shit for once instead of saying the "flow" "isn't great". What the heck is that supposed to mean? It's also funny the way you say you have mapped for four modifications but you don't mention any names. What the heck do you mean by "it isn't that much work to try it"? Try what? You need to re read your posts before submitting them, they really fail to made anything remotely coherent.

Alright now your defending a blind act (Rule 34 much)

Thing is, you need to work on it.

    Good day

    GROUND COVER. BITCHES.
