Intro

By way of introduction, I am "Redclaw" and I have spent the last 4 years mapping for AVP2. I also served as a map reviewer for PlanetAVP. About 4 months ago I jumped in the Half Life 2 arena feet first. It's been a total blastand I love the HL2 world. Hammer is a great level designer compared to what I had to work with in the AVP2 world. If play AVP2 and would like to check out those maps please PM me.

Description

Arctic Vendetta is a bitterly cold world with a old hydro plant nestled in a deep snow filled valley. The facility is closed for the season so no one is supposed to be there. Have fun exploring the place and with all my maps...there is a secret room and some nasty traps. This is my first major HL2 Deathmatch map release and I am sure I still have a lot to learn. So please go easy on me folks if it is not quite up to what other people are releasing. I hope people will appreciate the hard work and effort that went into these two maps.

War Clan Map Special Edition Information

Additions: - a new advanced control tower with elevator. - a new generator turbine room. - new storage rooms. - a new central command/control building. - lots of new easter eggs and secret rooms. Make sure to read the newspaper for a Easter Egg clue. - new custom ambient sounds and a complete conversion to using soundscapes. - more pickups of weapons and ammo (extra crossbows, slams, and 357's). - lots of new places to climb up on. - new secret rooms. - new models. - a shorter battle field for more action. - a high velocity turbine fan. - map has been tweaked to be played on low gravity servers as well.

Installation

Unzip the file: dmarcticvendettawarse_v1.bsp: Steam\Steamapps\<>\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\maps\

WARNING

Changing the map name from "dmarcticVendettawarse_V1.bsp" to anything else will cause all of the ambient soundscapes (as they are all custom ones) to stop working as well as all the special visual effects (specularity) will stop working as the cubemaps have been compiled for this map filename only.
