A cool out door map in the snow :)
Atually this was only a test map. I am gonna improve it once my external hardrive starts working again. Or at least once i get a new SDK hammer editor (since mine broke, along with my hardrive)
I don't see the reason for making full bright maps except laziness, (sorry to say) it makes a map look bad and you lose (imo) a degree of depth perception too. IMPROVEMENTS: simple, add a lightenviroment and a envsun at least. and maybe check out a few tutorials on design ect..






Pros: This map seems to be another one of those maps that suppose to focus mainly on gameplay and they leave out looks. Overall this works on this map because its a deathmatch map, the fast passed action the map provides really distracts you from the aesthetics. The overall structure is very good for this type of gameplay, lots of places to run different levels, deff good for HL2DM Cons: Although the action in the map is very good, would have liked to see this map actually look like something, not just some wall sticking out of the ground. Another thing is that the map is fullbright. Now this is not ussually a problem if mapping for games such as HL1 but this is the source engine lighting one of the easiest things to do. Improvements: Perhaps make the wall buildings and you walk along the roofs of the buildings. Reffering to the lighting issue just adding a simple light_enviroment would give things shadow and make the map look 100 times better. Notes: Overall its a fun little map. Nice job.
