This is a small map i made for a competition. It has no game play.
Put this in you ep2 maps folder or garrys mod map folder. eg.C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps(username)\half-life 2 episode two\ep2\maps

I have fixed it a bit but i cant get the skybox any better, because you cant see in to water if its in the 3d skybox. The smoke is a bit better i moved it more down in the volcano and rotated it a bit. But it may have looked out before but the emitter was in the volcano. Also thanks I'm glad you liked it. I wont ad any more to this map because i mad it for a competition.






Try this, Make a nice big thick brush, big enough for the entire house, trees, etc and put a dent in it, that really should work. Of course, that's the easy way out of it. Even tho I don't map for Source that much, I still know a thing or two. As for the sprite, is it outside the area where the volcano is? If so, move it to the volcano over it, that should work. If you did do that then the Source engine is wacky about sprites. Maybe make the island bigger, add more things, just take the .vmf file now and keep adding onto it and I would really like to see what you produce. You have potential, more then me at that. Happy mapping.
I Tried to fix the sky box for the land but when I built it it showed the same displacement as before I changed it and then it all messed up so I had to go to a backup I had, so I left it. Also the map was made just for looks.






Pros: Amazingly good looking, I do think the entire setting with the volcano is beautiful. The aurora is amazing, it looks good and detailed. Cons: I dont like the worms screaming, its just annoying. When you go to the edge of the water you can see like part of the 3D skybox area. The volcano smoke is off for the 3D skybox. Improvements: Fix the 3D skybox showing up on the map and volcano smoke. Notes: Amazing
