People are always learning. You can not expect somebody who is new with skinning to make a high-quality skin on their first shot, because they don't know how. They always make lower-quality ones, and with proper constructive feedback provided by other users, it helps them improve their work. Your posts completely discourage them from even trying anymore. You should put yourself in their shoes and you would know what it's like.

You need to be much more constructive when you assess a skin. Just disapproving and insulting the skin IS NOT going to make it better. The Author needs to know what to improve upon.

To be truthful, don't let the elitists -- those who think Racer's submission is absolutely and undeniably the best entry -- daunt you. In my opinion, a lot of effort was placed into Racer's submission but that doesn't signify that all the other entries are inferior -- which is exactly the impression their attitude yields. Racer's submission fails at the most important factors: futurism and looks! It doesn't look any different from a real-life weapon and I don't think, for this reason, that it should win the first prize. The Bianchi and the Fluence AR are more appropriate entries. Even the Warhammer gun beats Racer's in the futurism province.

So tell those who are trying to intimidate you that you do not give two shits about skill, professional quality and their so called expertise -- your opinion should matter more to you than theirs. For in the end, both of you are right and wrong since opinions and what is deemed good and "the best" is relative.
