    theyre made when you compile a model.

    I just installed 10.10 on an HTPC and there weren't any problems. Hell, the installer did everything for me. Overall it's still the Ubuntu that you remember, but with more bugfixes and performance improvements. Plus a new theme, if you're coming from 9.04.

    If your drives are dying, you could install it on a flash drive. That would severely lower the lifespan of said flash drive, but at least it's portable. :P
