Model / UV by REDROGUEXIII Thanks to Deadpixel who made a render, as well as minor uv-edits and put together this uv-release.

Contains: - 1x 1024^2 UV map - 2x Max files (9 only) - 2x SMD files

Includes Custom and Normal version. Now obsolete, I'm finishing up on a hopefully better version.

    SovietX

Whenever I try to apply some basic lighting (Burn and dodge) it causes this ugly striped texture to appear on the main body of the custom enfield. I dont understand why its doing so.

The young have ruined the bana

Posted by RedRogueXIII Kind of a long explanation but : It needs a bit of math, you've gotta pick a cylinder with a number of sides that will divide easily between the grooves. Say you want a cylinder with 5 grooves in it then you've gotta pick a cylinder with a power of 5*2(multiplying by two in order to have the sides used for the grooves as well as the normals faces. Then once you've got it set up, I isolate the sides i will use to cut the groove. Using copy and paste and some scaling and cutting I get the shape cut into the sides. Then I manually pull the verts down to arrange the smoothness. Set the groove and cylinder into different smooth groups then cut paste and rotate to make the full set of grooves and stitch and optimize the thing. Bad explanation but Im kinda tired, if I get to writing a tutorial I'll make sure to go over this better.

I get it, But maybe (if) you write the tut, make sure to go more in depth for people. I get it cuz I model more than texture and others may not because they do other things or are just starting. Thanks!

Pros: Well detailed Cons: First person view would show its hard edges Improvements: Chamfer the edges along the hammer areas and any hard edges you would see from a first person view. Notes: Looks great man, great model!

Oh my gawd. I've been waiting for another go at an enfield revolver (last one was poorly modeled and had wrong animations).

Can't wait to see this in action.

NOTE TO ANYONE WANTING TO ANIMATE: THE ENFIELD IS SNAP ACTION, THE BARREL SNAPPED DOWNWARDS TO REMOVE THE AMMO, NOT SIDEWAYS
