Test 20 of 19

I made this map a while ago when Portal came out, and pretty much left it alone to go do some TF2 mapping. I've decided to come back and fix it, as well as make the advance version.

Updated: 5/29

-Fixed button delay -Fixed exit door -Added soundscapes -Added boxes in the tubes -Messed with ways to help indicate open holes in the glass -Added an indicator string for the rotating door -Added some props to the large observation room -Added some more signs to try and help make step 1 more obvious

Bugs (?):

-Step 1: Signs might be confusing as to where you put the portals -Indicator light string for the exit door does not work. This is fixed in the next version.

Nice map but I agree with a lot of people.

Well yes, after you play it it is going to seem easier. You may have not had a problem with the glass, but a lot of people did, so I attempted to fix it.

The map was much better, in my opinion, before this update: "Updated: 5/29 -Messed with ways to help indicate open holes in the glass, -Added some more signs to try and help make step 1 more obvious"

What are you talking about? The last changes I've made have all been cosmetic and I haven't touched the gameplay at all.

Current version is too easy and not challenging. You just dumped the map following 'critic''s review, unfortunately.

Pros: Awesome map! Improvements: Hdr is too bright. Would love to see challenges and advanced map for it.

Also, add Glados chatter and, perhaps, some music (from the original portal) Notes: "Door doesn't close at the end of the level" - And doesn't open, automatically, at the start of the level.

Pros: Portal is a game that gets me sick if i play long. But i added this map and i play for an hour. And it was fun. Notes: I love to see new maps for this game. Great wok man. Rate 10/10 for time spent and class on this map.

Its a good challenge, really makes one think about the situation, however, its not overly clear what one has to do to complete the puzzles, while there are signs showing what to do, the correct order can take a while as well as spotting how to go to each section.

The one jump to get through that gap for instance actually took me a long time to get just right to fit into that, try lowering bottom edge a bit and add in a playerclip on the top one to angle oneself in a bit easier as it got to the point I abandoned that idea and moved onto trying the next thing.

Visually a few things are off, with all the glass panels separating levels from one another it gets hard to spot where the gaps are in them, perhaps make those edges a little more obvious as well, nothing too much but a trim of some sort or mark the places needed to jump up on the bottom floor with decals pointing up.

The cube tunnel you have in the level on your immediate left upon entering the room, maybe have some actual crates and such zipping through them now and again. Add in some ambient sound for it running, while on the subject of ambient sound. Glados commentary would be a great thing to have, edging the player on, have some get triggered upon going into certain areas and such.

I must say, the gate system with the cube is a neat trick, don't think I've seen that before. So congrats on coming up with that if you did :P
