7 point control point push/pull map

Map by Jamie "Fishbus" Manson

Goldrock Gulch is a serious and honest remake of the father of TF2 CP maps - warpath (for TFC). A spiritual successor much in the same vein as Badlands and Well. The map is indeed quite large and is entirely intentional, spawn points move along with every point, not just the middle and the second last; this is to cater for it's size.

Objective: To win each team must own all seven Control Points.

Other Notes: Control Points cannot be captured while they are locked.

Good graphics, but the spawn are really really misplaced, you can't defend properly point 2, the team who defend is way too far.

I had this up in rotation on my server for the last few days and had many chances to play this with full teams.

I have to agree, the map is very long winded. Some of the paths are confusing and many players found themselves going backwards towards their spawns instead of forward towards, into battle, after capping the 2nd point. It also feels somewhat claustrophobic and very much like a very long hall in places which makes it hard to tell where you are in relation to the rest of the map.

Map is overall visually appealing, many people like the trains and the center point view.

I look forward to future updates of this map. I would like to see some of the points a little bit closer together (or at least feel closer together,) as I feel like it may have affected any dynamics the points were intended to have.

Good luck and it's good to see you still mapping tf2 maps.

Pros: The gulch is beautifully done. Very scenic and picturesque. Cons: The map is too long. It takes far more than the necessary amount of time to reach the middle point. The only quick way to get there is with a teleporter.
Improvements: I would make changes to the distance between spawn and the middle point. Overly lengthy walks in maps tend to kill servers (or at least cause complaints and a vote to change the map.) Notes: Nice endeavor. Love freight, like steel, and I will enjoy watching this map develop as you improve and adjust it's features and layout. Good luck.

Now here is a devoted mapper, someone that already works in the industry but still makes maps for tf2. Looks nice, checking it out now.
