Ctf100yardsfinal

Heres the final version unless something really needs changing. The fps is a little better, about 10fps more, but I had to sacrifice the pit on the above ground, It should run about the same as ctf_2fort. Heres some changes:

-Back doorways and flag room are wider -Some wider ledges -Underground door doesnt open for the other team -Opening above flag room so demomen or soldiers can destroy the hard-to-kill sentries near flag -Added small health in the underground room with blast window -Changed upper ground pit into a crater -Computer room near flag does not require dispenser jumping, you can access it from the side now -Some other minor cosmetic changes

I'm working on a new really fun map so this is probably going to be the final version! Have Fun!

Here is a quick fix to the purple reflective texures. It should be all fixed. Also some stairs have been smoothed out, underground respawn room now does not have a health regenerator but only a health pack and ammo to make it a little easier to go around the enemys side, deleted some props, added more func_detail...hopefully fps is a little better but still in need of more optimization. Will continue to update as I get more comments and suggesstions. Thx for trying it out!

There are good turret spots with dispenser jumping. Also a great underground spot with a movable blast shield at "gate 5". There are various weapons layed throughout the map as easter eggs!

    Can you please add a round timer to it? its the only think keeping me from hosting it, i love the map, but it can become very epic if both teams decide to turtle their flag...

    This is a really fun map. Once players learn the various ways in and out of the spawn areas they seem to really enjoy themselves.

    The only consistent complaint I receive is that it doesn't run very well on slower machines. I would hate to see drastic changes to the map, but if something can reasonably be done to optimize the performance... then I think we would have a real keeper here and a regular map on my server, anyway.

    Good work! Hope to see a final version soon that runs a little faster!

    PS the only minor thing I don't like about the map is it seems a little too easy for an engineer to setup right at the intel facing down the stairs. While there are ways to defeat them (like an ubered demo man) it does seem a little frustrating if your team doesn't have many ubers charging up. What about making a way to jump into the intel room through its roof, but not have the ability to jump out? That way you still have to run the longer way out but engies would have to worry about covering their backs too. Just a thought though, the layout is still fine the way it is.

    Pros: Open and sprawling, yet not a sniper-fest. The two levels make it a strategic challenge to properly defend. The multiple little rooms and cubbyholes scattered throughout make it very fun for spies and scouts. Cons: The "computer room" just outside the intel room is way too difficult to remove engineers from. I know because I use it all the time :). Improvements: I'd say either open up that computer room or make it more accessible to demos/soldiers. Notes: Beautiful map, large yet contained. I can't wait to see the final version. 10/10

    Hey Chiuey, when you update again, please let me know. Think I'll leave b1 on my server for a while rather than replacing it just yet. Takes forever for me to upload anything because my internet is two carrier pigeons. :\

    Pros: Awesome map layout and very balanced. Cons: The FPS is very poor, needs a lot of optimization. Plus had a few people complain about pink floors, I didn't personally have any issues, maybe different cards or something causing issues or direct-x levels? Improvements: Fix the pink floors improve the FPS as much as possible... Notes: Hope to see an update soon.
