This is the final version of this map. Unless any major issues come up, this is it.

Changes from beta 2:

  • Removed the round timer.
  • Added a little water to the large sewer room. Now you can drop down from the top and not take any damage as long as you don't hit the dirt around the edge (for you Chicky!).
  • Added soundscapes and other ambients (completely forgot about them!)
  • A few lingering texture issues fixed up.
  • A little more detail/lighting tweaks here and there.

    Its just that I prefer a round timer, to me it leads to more interesting gameplay, instead of the teams being able to just go into turtling, it makes them HAVE to capture the flags WITHIN the time that the timer displays, often leading to more action. That is one reason I don't like 2fort because both teams are under no pressure and can just turtle till the next day, neither team will win and it just gets boring :\

    What about ctf_2fort...? It's my understanding that ctf maps generally don't have round timers.

    I took it down when I put this one up. You can still find it (beta 2) running on some servers though.

    Can't please everyone I suppose.

    Most people didn't like the round timer in the last version. One server even altered the map, removing the round timer and screwing up the cubemaps in the process.
