CP_Busytown

Follow to my first TF2 map, also the first ever custom map for TF2 - cp_Lazytown.

Busytown features updated visuals, new gameplay routes as well as custom models and textures. Also added are advancing spawn points that move up as the teams gain ground.

Pros: MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER!!!! Love the custom "blocks" of hay. Nice touch. Cons: This map is about 6 months too late. If you'd released this shortly after releasing lazytown, I bet it would have been an option for release with the game much like ctfturbine and cpfastlane were. Improvements: None really. I think this map is excellent. You've definitely avoided making it too difficult and the added textures really make the map much better. Forward spawns actually make the map playable now. Excellent work!

Pros: Awesome Remake. I liked the old Lazytown, but it was so glitchy and a Stalemate map. Now its balanced for better combat and with advanced spawns, its so much funner. Looks alot better and Optimized even more. Great Job. Cons: This may be just me but i think it could have been detailed a little more. Notes: Sorry, for late Assessment.

    I has a shuvil!

    Hey...

We just loaded Busytown to our Khaos 24 slot Public server and I found it to be a sweet update to Lazytown - which is a staple on our server... The paths around the middle point add a bit of relief to the back and forth choke point from lazytown. However, we had a pretty even battle and reached the time limit on a full server, and then sudden death kicked in. However, when sudden death started, the scoreboard came up and the map then ended... Dunno if this is a bug with the map, but I thought Id pass it along... Besides from that problem, it is a sweet-lookin, nicely balanced map...

    care to tell us how?

Use an entity editor such as ented to accomplish this. You can remove or alter anything that is an entity in the map. You can even change the sky if you wanted to. When you open the entity editor you will then open the bsp. After that, you will see all the entity and model code that is within the map. You search for the cap timers and then you should see part of the code that envolves the actual length of the timer. You then can just lower or raise them to your liking and then save the bsp.

Please take note that you do not have to change the map name when you save it because all entities are server based. You could go as far as removing every entity from the map and keeping the map name and putting it on your server and the players wouldnt have to redownload the map.

You can also add entities as well. If there is a spot that you wanted to add a health pack or some ammo, just figure out the proper code and add it at the end of the bsp code in the entity editor then save the file.

Another thing to know is that you do not have to update your fast dl version of the map after making the alterations. Only the bsp for the actual server needs updated with your altered version. Pretty cool ay?

    Thanks for the comments guys.

I won't be changing anything in the map now since this is a final release and I also do not have time to make any alteratitions.

I believe sacrafist is right when he says you can alter the cp times from a server perspective but I don't personally know how to do this.

Once the map has a bit more of an uptake and people have had a chance to get the official copy I will be releasing the vmf and the model pack for it. That way people can make any modifications they like to the design.

I'd ask anyone who edits the map to please save thier copy in the following format: "cpbusytowneditedname", so as to distinguish it from the official version.

Thanks guys, keep the comments and crits coming.
