Rocket Jump - Rocketeer Advanced

Version: TF2

Difficulty: Moderate

Big shout out to my peeps: Wonderwall {TF2F}Unnownd

They both helped in testing, especially Wonderwall who bothered listening to my endless complaints with every test build :)

10 Core jumps, 3 extra jumps. Wonder and Unnownd both got to pitch a design for their own jump and they are accessible at the end. Each jump has hints to help. There will also be a video on YouTube soon. The colors along the walls and plats do have meanings:

Blue = Able to touch. Red = Is a teleporter. Purple = Health Regeneration

Have fun!

Posted by cownaetion ... a capture point will never be added because it is the dumbest thing to add for a skills map.

Oh, come on! I know concmaps could be unending, but this isn't TFC.

The stupid SourceMod RTV only works once a map, and maps like these don't change when the time runs out. The result is that without a CP or CTF, maps don't end if they are voted on once. In TFC, you had a vote every 27 minutes.

I don't know why you would be so opposed to the idea. It is a fundamental gameplay design in TF2.

It isn't like I was claiming rocket jump maps in TF2 are worthless without quad. ;)

Steve, I appreciate your comments but a capture point will never be added because it is the dumbest thing to add for a skills map. For the record, your not the first person to suggest this but it just isn't happening. If you haven't noticed already, I'm old school. Stubborn? Maybe, but that's why these line of maps differ then the ones already out there. Thanks.

Pros: -high degree of challenge -innovative soldier jumps not seen before this map -good lighting -great variety in jump techniques Cons: -a few of jumps bring the risk of fall damage or inadvertent suicide -the difficulty could be a negative, but the map is called "Advanced" -the environment isn't that engage, but it is only a skill map -No CP Improvements: I really like the use of color to denote areas to avoid and overall the theme doesn't detract from the game play. Although, I would like to see more of a variety in the appearance of the map.

Everything felt boxed in and similar - with is common for skill maps were the aesthetics aren't the focus. Maybe next map you can play around with the setting.

The help buttons are a great addition! Not only due they offer assistance to the perplexed, but they don't give too much away that the jump is automatic.

I also like the ending area. A lot of skill maps just have a CP or a warp back to the start, and that is no fun. So, creating a final area with bonus jumps was a nice touch.

Still, there should be a CP to end the map. That is definitely something you should add on your next map.

All-in-all, it is a great map for its purpose.

This is too hard for me though i easily can accomplish the basic one >_> I seen wonderwalls vid of this. Its perfect in every way shape and form. Hope you make more! I would like to see a map that as you advance different courses it will make the next part more advance than the last. If you fail the last one it will make the next one easier. Also maybe a CP one for two different teams to get to the middle.

Very challenging. Keep up the good work!

Pros: This map is the most challenging rocket jump map for TF2 yet.

I thought the hints were a great addition to the map. Good use of moving platforms, timers, and buttons. Cons: I died like 20 times playing this lol. I wish it had infinite heal on some of the jumps.
