Simple map thats meant to be fun. Based off the orginal by bsl. Also based off my orange_x. Not meant to be the greatest map ever made. You'll either like it or hate it. Enjoy..

Pros: Creative spin on the traditional orange style. Snipers don’t play as big a role / other classes are more playable thanks to added cover. It is simple but functional which is what made the original orange maps great. Big map and alternate routes allow each player to do their own thing.

Cons: Snipers still play a large role and have a lot of power in this map, even with the cover. They are also able to easily camp the spawn exits. Capture points are very spread out and it takes a lot of time to travel from one to another. Middle point captures very slowly. In many places, the textures are not lined up with each other. Many brushes on one side of the map are not the same size on the other side, which leads to team advantages and prevents the map from being truly balanced and symmetrical. The rectangular prism brushes in the area between the first and second capture points on both sides appear to be an after thought and randomly placed without much care. It’s hard for engineers to defend the last point with sentries as there isn’t much for cover in that area. The player clip brushes used aren’t symmetrical on both sides and as a result, players are able to access certain areas on one side and not on the other.

Improvements: Texture alignment and map symmetry. Try to arrange the rectangular prism brushes more strategically. I’d recommend adding more cover around the last point instead of being able to turn the corner and be at the exit of a team’s spawn.

Notes: Overall, good job. It’s nice to take a break from the regular orange maps by playing this one. My only concern is that the map as it is now looks like it was a rushed job and not much attention was paid to the smaller stuff. That can all be fixed, though, with some minor changes.

Pros: Popular. Why?! Cons: Good lord, all I can see is a purple grid now. Sniper fest, not cool in TF2. Improvements: I understand this is a low/no detail map, but at least increase the grid size of the purple texture because it makes my eyes bleed. Notes: A 4.7 and not a 1.0 only because I understand you were making a simple map.

Pros: Great to see something new to the orange craze. This level has a lot more dynamics then the originals and looks fairly interesting. I'd definitely want to play this to see how it feels. Cons: Although the theme is "purple" this map lacks a lot in visual equilibrium. I won't argue for a different style, however the use of color here hurts to look at. Purple on gray is hard on the eyes. Improvements: The theme may be "purple" but less is more. Differentiating between various tones of purple, while still making use of team colors would make a vast improvement on this map overall. I would also suggest less of these random rectangles all over. They don't feel thought out or intentional.

The purple should be strategically placed on the map to show the intentional usage of the color, not a blanket 2 texture map (that is boring to look at). A lot can be gained simply from reworking the ground maze and the textures. Notes: Orange x3 is probably one of my favorite maps out there, although this would count as being a newer better quality map, it has lost the grace of orange. Actually, most orange maps after 4 are ugly as well, so I would say orange 3 was a happy accident.

I see this current map as having huge potential, please drop this into beta and do more to clean it up. it has a lot of potential and as an orange3 fan, it kills me to see this get left in the dust.

    Was that a pulse...?

Pros: Fun! I've almost got a collection of orange-x remakes/reskins/ripoffs etc. now (I think 11 or so at last count...) and this is by far the best of the bunch. Most of the others generally use almost the exact same layout which makes me like yours even more. All the extra cover and everything makes it a little less sniperirffic and even though it's still a good map for snipers the cover makes it survivable even for the slower classes, and maybe makes it so I don't have to limit snipeys. Also gives engies a lot of places to quick build ambush sgs =) Cons: It hurts my eyes =) I'm not trying to be sarcastic or dig on your design skills, but the almost fluorescent purple actually takes some getting used to. Maybe a bit more laid back color. Improvements: The color as mentioned above, otherwise no real problems I can see (other than those that seem to be more or less inherent to any 5 cp map, e.g. they don't tend to end).

Pros: Well, I have played the orange map before and that is loads of fun and this map is the game. It is challenging because teamwork is critical for capturing points. Every class can have a role in this map and that is good for balancing the teams so that there aren't too many of one class. It is designed very well, so that control of points can be changed very easily if done right, so the game moves along fairly quickly. It is hard, to be able to capture all of the points and games can usually last a long time Cons: Let me tell you why I marked you down on a few things. Fun - it can get frustrating at some points when you are the only person on your team doing anything to benefit the team, and if that happens, the game will go to a standstill. Gameplay - While the gameplay is normally fun, if it ever gets to the point where one point cannot be captured because it is guarded, then it is hard for the game to continue. Teamplay - If you are ever stuck with an incompetent team on this map, then it will be nearly impossible to capture a point. Improvements: I don't really know how to make it so people aren't idiots. I guess what you can try to do is make the capture points a little bit more capturable and make the game less likely to turn into a standstill Notes: I have played the original orange_x and it is loads of fun. Good job.
