Aperture Science scout jumping map with difficult challenges for avid scoutjumpers. Enjoy the challenge!

Welcome to the Aperture Science research testing facility. Your unique ability to "double-jump" has made you a prime candidate for testing the limits of human function. You will be given a series of difficult jumping challenges. At the end of the testing there will be grief counseling... and cake. I hope you enjoy our fantastic new platforms that catapult you, and our brand new scout pinball chamber.

Warning: This is for advance scout jumping personel only. Any other class will surely fail, and you will be racing against another set of competitors to a capture point. The challenges are difficult, and some people have reported serious frustration, nausea, herpes, and sudden heart failure. If you are pregnant do not attempt this course. If you are concerned about eye candy, do not attempt this course. Aperture Science has constructed this course with a minimalist approach, so that you may concentrate on the challenge.

Thank you for choosing Aperture Science.

I really enjoyed the map - even though a few of the jumps felt repetitive. The two climbing jumps feel very similar when going through the map, as well as the two floating platform jumps. They're also, essentially, completed in the same manner. It would be great to see more variety in your jumps because this map does get a little boring to play.

That being said, I do like the design of some of the jumps - like the collapsing walkway and the pinball. These map showed that you could make better, more innovative jumps.

The map is a challenge, though. The white floating platforms take awhile to learn how to navigate and the climbing jumps take time to complete as they heavily punish making a mistake.

I like that both teams are playable, but it is a real shame that a teleport to the other team's side is right at the start of the map. Because of this I've had problems with people not playing scout and DM'ing people. You probably should have put the teleport at the end.

I also like that the two teams end on the same jump without any divider. It is a nice change of pace, but it does allow for fighting to take place outside of on the CP, which I think was your intentions.

Overall, it is a solid map, with the layout well lighted and similar in appearance to the closed design of many skill maps, but I do think that your previous map was more fun to play. Nonetheless, I do enjoy this map and encourage people to try it out.

The whole map is wonderful for a jump map for the scout. Except those white floating platforms. IMO Those are dumb. The rest of the map is perfect. Iwould try makingit look a little better too. Make it a bit fancy. Add a few things to it sorta like how bestinclass_v2 did.

Pros: A solid challenge map with an interesting (if not underplayed) theme. The look of the map was good for a challenge map. There's only so much you can do with one. I would have preferred to see beam textures at those bar jumping areas but I understand keeping it simple.

The jumps had enough of a challenge involved to make it interesting. Fortunately they also weren't impossible. Also some good ideas and variations were used to keep things interesting.

Cons: However, those ideas stopped being interesting the second time around. You retread a lot of the same ground. The second time I got to the white blocks I groaned out loud. I realize there are only so many ways to make jumping interesting (like that great pinball area) but getting past a very difficult area just to see it again is... well... disappointing.

Improvements: Add a little 2 brush thick solid brush at the edges of the water. Its a beta so its not the end of the world, but it needs to be done. Also you might want to add more medkits in the first few areas because lots of people will be trying (read: failing) in the early stages together. After that they will spread out enough so that 1 is plenty.

Notes: The fact that I finally bested some of the hardest parts (for me), turned a corner, and ran into the same challenge again just plain ruined this for me. I would say this is worth a play through, but I can't picture wanting to play it again. There just isn't enough variations in what I get to do.

However, it was 100% worth playing for the pinball moment. FUN! =) Thanks for the map.

Pros: Very fun map. Although I did find it a tad too easy. The first two jumps were fine. The third challenge/jump was a little confusing at first, but once you realize the platforms help you float, it isn't hard to work out. The fourth was fun as hell, I laughed out loud when I went through it. Very fun part.

On the fifth challenge, it is very easy to skip over a lot of it. I only realized the beam broke in places at the last bit. This didn't hold me back too much, and I just skipped the rest.

The sixth was quite easy but also fun. The seventh reminded me of many UT2k4 trial maps, and I found it sooo frustrating but I got there in the end.

I like the eight jump, the first is very easy, but the second part you need to get the angle just right. Quite challenging.

The 9th used Strafe jumping which I enjoyed, as did the 11th. The 10th was fine, and 12 and 13 were just fun.

14 HAD to be the best. It encaptures everything the scout can do it three simple jumps!

And finally, the tower at the end. I liked it, it was fast paced, and tricky. The point takes a LONG TIME to cap, but I can guess why you did this.

I liked the concept of the teams competing against each other, and then fighting for the point at the end. Very creative, getting that TRIAL spirit of UT2k4 in some cases.

I liked the simplicity in the visual aspect. Some of the signs posted made it almost as sadistic as Aperture would be (Jump 4)

Cons: I found it very cheeky that at the end of the first challenge, after the little jump pad, there was a teleport. I accidentally ran into it and I was unpleasantly surprised! Nice twist, you did it a few more times aswell!

All the water sorta glitched on the sides, doing that dragging, ugly effect.

Towards the end you began repeating elements, which were fine because they were slightly harder, but they were too similar. On the final jump (the tiny pyramid) it isn't as hard as you'd think. Slightly anti-climatic.

Improvements: Fix the water glitch, because it hurts my eyes and looks unprofessional.

Change the pyramid jump to something a little harder. How about you have to climb upwards on little spiky pyramids? That would be much harder.

Also, perhaps make the cap point capture a tad faster.

Notes: This map is fun as heck. Challenging in parts, but not impossible at all. Took me at least a couple of tries on average for each set of jumps. Best scout jump map I've played, and I loved how there is a multiplayer element in it. This could be the begining to multiplayer trial style maps?

Pros: Very fun, challenging, and unique. Visually bland, but this is good because it doesn't distract players. Cons: Not enough arrows, some parts are annoying, and buggy. The jumps involving white platorms that make you float are very buggy and very frustrating. Improvements: More arrows, but it is good as is. Notes: I completed this map in 2 hours, it was a very good challenge.
