What do the Team Fortress 2 characters do after dark? They go clubbing! Trade with your friends in a appealing modern enviroment.
IMPORTANT NOTE This is a resubmission as the original file was lost in the malware attack last week. Also, since the creation and original submission of this map, valve has put the milestones back in as a way of unlocking the new weapons. Despite this, I still believe that trading will be the superior way to acquire the new weapons once valve implements the trading system. After all, isn't hanging out in a bar way more fun than grinding on an achievement server?
The first (and hopefully not last) map of its kind, Trade_Nightclub is a map created in order to facilitate the trading of weapons and unlocks between players.
As soon as valve implements the trading system, people will want to trade items, but they will not know where. The dedicated TF2 players have access to friends, clans, and communities and have easy access to open trade and thus every unlock -- but where is Joe TF2 Player going to go to get his Ambassador? Joining random servers and yelling "WTB AMBOS WILL TRADE FOR 3 BLUTS" is both annoying to players and unsuccessful for the seekers of items. This is where Trade_Nightclub and other trade maps come in. If this style of maps catches on, any player can just connect to a 24/7 trade server, look for a seller, and grab their item. Easy as pie right?
After connecting to a server with this map running (whether out of curiosity or out of need) they will find themselves in a small dimly lit room. The first thing they will notice is the lit stage in the center of the room with a performer ready to please her(?!) audience. After watching and being entertained/weirded out, they will proceed over to the well stocked bar with its own friendly bartender. The RED Demo will let out a hearty laugh and slide them a cold one to enjoy while chatting with their newly found friends about politics, the weather, and of course TF2.
Trade_Nightclub does the most it can to prevent griefing. Engineer buildings are completely blocked and Lionheartnl's godmode filter is in place to further prevent griefers.
