USB device over current?

Help now.

Alright, fuck.

I just started up my computer after tinkering with a few hardware things, and it started up great until after the Asus screen (Because it is an Asus motherboard) it reads a message similar to the following:

"Warning!!! USB device over current detected!!! Please remove over current USB device! System will shut down in (16 seconds counting down)."

So here's what I did. I recently bought a Western Digital 150GB RaptorX drive so I installed that. I also plugged in a few things for my new Razor Barracuda headset into my Sound Blaster card. I plugged in the USB cable that was attached to the headphone's stuff. I then gave power to my previously powerless CD/DVD drives (2 of them).

What the hell does this mean and what should I do to fix it?

System specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme x6800 Motherboard: Asus Nforce 680i ATX SLI RAM: (4 x 1GB) 4 GB Corsair DDR2 800 Dominator Hard Drives: (2 x 250 GB) 500 GB total Western Digital New WD RaptorX 150GB Case: Thermaltake Armor w/ 25cm fan Video Card: EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX (1) Sound Card: Creative Soundblaster X-FI XtremeMusic

Help me, please.

The only advice I can give you is to start unplugging things one by one until you find out what it is.

I already unplugged all my USB stuff, including my USB hub. I did plug in a new mouse to that hub, but I already unplugged it :(

    Try this.

Take off cover of computer and take out the battery. wait for 20 seconds and put it back it. It will reset bios, be sure to start after with all of your stuff taken out. Then if it works, connect stuff one by one till you find the reason.

If that doesn't help, check your USB ports, maybe dust or something is in it making it fail.

I lol at life when it sucks.

Well just to let you guys know, I fixed the whole "Over current" thing. Apparently something got fucked up with my damn front USB ports so I took them both out. Doesn't matter, I don't use them anyway.

But then it said something about my system not booting. Please insert system disk.

So I switched my hard drive cables and now it doesn't even start.

I'm going to switch them back, try it again and then try to see if I can find my stupid Vista disk.

Just to make sure, how many pin holes did the USB cords you take out have? And, what BIOS? I'll guess Phoenix.

Lol like I said, check your usb ports might have some shit in them, such as liquid or dust.

Ok, after looking this up, it may actually seem to be a memory error. I'm going to guess after you giving power to more than your PSU can handle, it may have fried one of your memory sticks. As stupid as it sounds, take out all of the memory sticks, and try them one by one. In the meantime, I'll see what I can do.
