Enjoy FPSB? yes Like helping others? Why wouldnt I? Wish to help out around FPSB in your free time/leisure? I am ALWAYS here, I also help people around when I can soooo...yes. FPSB has changed its approach to moderator inquiries. We now allow members to create a thread as an application to be a moderator of FPSB. What things should you include in this thread and how do you go about getting it in the Modtalk forum? These are some general questions that hopefully this guide will answer for you.
First you need to know if you even qualify to be a moderator. We have a loose set of rules to follow when considering an application. Any or all of these rules can be ignored if the applicant (you) is a solid choice for moderator.
Moderator Requirements
- Makes extensive content contributions and/or feedback/CSA contributions
Well, I always make ratings on Sprays and sometimes on Skins/Maps - Has no history of misbehavior evidenced in their modlog or elsewhere
- Gets along well with all moderators and most members
- Is over 18 or very mature for their age evidenced by their post quality and general conduct
- Age is a hopeful, not a requirement. If you're not 18, but display maturity we're comfortable with then we consider that sufficient. A lot of our Moderators are not 18 years old, so do not be discouraged by that rule.
- Has been on the site for more than 6 months
In your thread you will want to include as much information about yourself as possible. As pertains to being a moderator. We don't need to know the trivial things, but more about you in relationship to the site. Here is a list of some general things to include in your thread.
Basics to Include
- Name
Alexander Cosenza - Age
20 - Section in which you wish to be a moderator
Basically anything thats open...I know AceMan has recently left but I dont know which areas he moderated....I would like to moderate: Sprays, Skins, Users, Maps, I dont need Bans or Gagging because I could simply report it. I would also like to moderate threads made on the forum or in clubs, etc. - Qualifications (why do you think you're good for the section)
Well...I know I am young on FPSBanana, but I show dedication to the site. I support the site. I also buy Ripe for people because I know money can be tight. I am 95% of the time online. I am also a moderator on the FPSBanana servers and I am always on the TF2 servers so I show moderation abilities there, also. - Personal Pros and Cons
Pros: Maturity Level, Grammar, Responsibility; Cons: Sometimes I OVERwork when it is not needed. For Example: I make sets and sometimes I put in things that are not needed. - Specific examples(if any) of you displaying moderator qualities. Well...I own 3 CS:S Servers that have been up for about 2 years. I am an admin on the FPSBanana TF2 servers. I, also, run a website for a clan that my friend owns.
When posting the thread, be sure to move it to the ModTalk forum. To do this, create your thread like normal, then edit the thread. Change the forum to FPSB>Modtalk from the drop down menu provided. This will allow the Moderators and Admins to discuss your application without everyone on the forum seeing what you've written and what we've had to say about you. We are honest and if someone doesn't meet the qualifications we put those thoughts and information to back those thoughts in the thread as well.
The application does not guarantee a position. We take into account the necessity of a new Moderator. If the section you're hoping to get into has a sufficient amount of Moderators to do the job, then it is likely you will not be accepted.
