So im trying to make a tree house/type map and its not real complicated its just for fun, not to look good

so i have my sphere, and or cylinder, or whatever it might be

is there any way to cut segments out of the shape like "Carving" it maybe... idk

and i also am wondering how to make more corners on a sphere or cylinder cause its too jagged

There's a thread around here that explains carving in 3dsMax, if that's the program you're using.

You cannot carve spheres. Use vertex manipulation instead.

You should NEVER use carve for anything, much less a complicated shape like a sphere. Basically, the carving tool does a HORRIBLE job at figuring out how the divide the brush being carved in to parts. This leads to big problems with VIS.

Here's an example: ^^ Carved hole. ^^ ------------------------------------------------- ^^ Hole made with the clipping tool. ^^

Ok sorry for the double, how do you cut the end off of a cylinder, and this clipping tool is really confusing

Lol i hate asking so many questions because i always spend like 20 minutes trying to figure it out on my own, then i fonally break down and ask, and then about 30 seconds after i ask it seems to just click in my head and i figure it out
