A gigantic bucketwheel excavator on the surface of Venus

I've been working on this map now for about three months, it's got custom meshes and textures and uses stock sounds and game-play assets to deliver a unique experience for Unreal Tournament 3.

Instead of settling for a generic "room-corridor-room" design, I chose to do something fundamentally unique. Something you've never played before. The most important thing I feel for me as an amateur level designer working on this in my spare time, is to deliver something a little bit. Ok. A LOT different. To whacky for a professional company to afford to do. To settle for the game-play and graphical issues, here, un-avoidable by design and to just.. go for it!

Just to do this insane excavator on the planet Venus, you know, and just making it play and look AS GOOD AS I CAN isn't that what it's all about? :)

Enjoy this map. With its sheer innovativity and kick-assery (no, that's not a word!) That's what DM-BAGGER has to offer!

Lock-'n-load.

Like blackjack said...This is a 'map', looks like lots of effect or put in, and is loads of fun. Continue to make these wonderful maps!

Pros: This is unmistakably brilliant. This is what mapping should be, innovation, having fun with the medium and bending the abilities of mapmaking. Cons: My only issue: it's a bit too easy to be knocked off. As you said, it's inherent in the design... But it tends to turn into a sumo wrestling match. Improvements: I can't think of one. It's an excellent map with one inherent but not at all destructive flaw.
