You need to lower the contrast. It'll make the rough parts look smoother.






yep I sopose, but its just they never seem to look right so I fuck it up with contrast and brightness ?






They have all looked the same though.






I make all my bases for each skin. it's a new one everytime. I guess some are just better than others.






Yea, you do.
Quit using that base dude, it's the reason your skins look like lava rock with white chalk as highlights. Lower the contrast on it then merge the contrast mask layer with your base. Then start your highlighting.






The base your using really isnt that good. it makes the highlights look washed out. and you shouldnt highlight the whole blade part. just the parts that are facing the light source.
