Number one, it looks smoother and I dont really like the gripping part of the 2nd animation.
Number 1 is better much more subtle and less distracting.

Yeah, as of right now i'm leaning toward the 1st one. the second one just doesnt feel right to me. and right now its tied in the polls at 5 votes for each, so we'll see... :\
