Left side of the reciever done. Should be on schedule for a weekend release if all goes well. If anyone wants to point out any inaccuracies, realise that I had my number 4 sitting on my lap the entire time I was modelling. :D <3 my number 4. However, < / 3 being too lazy to smooth an incomplete model at midnight for a render + what vray does to unsmoothed models.

EDIT: Finished the rear micrometer sight, I just need to put it on a nice low-poly diet.

Im very worried about what the polycount is gonna be...

But it looks like you do are modeling it very realistic.

Posted by daisukekazama You're gonna have to take off the peep sight. The Mk.1 T had modified sights with the back ring sight removed so that it wouldn't hit the scope. Otherwise though, looks ace.

Once again, daisukekazama comes through with his amazing research skills :) I had a feeling that the sights were modified for the T, but I could never quite see it in a picture. Thanks mate :) Do you happen to have any pictures of the scope or mount btw?

Posted by Darthfaceman The vray lights show a lot more detail on curved surfaces compared to skylights, but they do take a while to set up. and I got lazy. :S Where do you see the polywastage? I know of a couple of areas that I need to trim before I UV it, but mb you saw something I didn't.
well, kind of around the sight hole thing, :/ could be a single n-gon rather than beveled. :P But you can use regular Scanline, 2 Omni Lights, Blue back, and light orange/yellow up front. Light specular material, WITH a Skylight. it's what I do. ;)

kk, I'll cut the chamfer out for the next wip. Thanks for the tip on the renders mate, I'll have to give that a try.

Posted by KiLL[a]S_ Maybe try some new type of renders? :/ these are kinda lit.. bad. Just add a skylight? But this looks like it has quite a bit of polygon wastage, but not enough gun done to crit correctly

Cool, very nice looking. Sorry about the poll, you'll understand. I just consider the Mauser to be superior to any of the other rifles as the others copyied or modified the existent bolt design
