This one was a pain in the ass to animate:P
First I tried to animate so the palm was facing downwards during te bolt pull action, but then I encountered some huge clipping and the movement was very jaggy. But I'll try again though:P

Yeah, bolt action snipers are kinda tough at first. I think you should go with the first one, but do more with the fingers maybe. So he grabs it with just two, or so they react a bit. I don't know. Very fluid.
I think I like palm up.
